Asked

iPod not charging from wall plugs but from every thing else?

History

My iPod Touch 2nd Gen no longer can charge from wall chargers but it can charge from everything else dock, computer and car charger.

I think there is something wrong inside the iPod where the dock connector is.

Any idea what could be causing the problem?

Patrick Mifsud, I would think that the error is not your iPod but your wall charger. I checked on pinouts.ru and I do not see that the pins that are responsible for charging change with each adapter. It appears the pins are the same for anything that charges your iPod, hence; check the wall charger and the cable going to your ipod. Good luck to you and let us know how it went.

I have checked the wall charges they working but my iPod touch does not charge from them still. I think there is something wrong internally.

Patrick Mifsud,

Patrick, if it would be your iPod touch, it would not charge from anything. The dock connector gets a charge to the same contacts regardless is you charge it from the USB,a dock or a wall charger.

oldturkey03,

Is it posible that some how i fried something on the inside like a resistor or regulator?

Patrick Mifsud,

I do not think so. Having checked the pinout once more I do not see that it makes a difference from where the iPod gets its power for as long as it has sufficient amperage. I still believe that this is not an iPod problem but an AC charger problem. The same topic is being discussed on here http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.p... go check it out.

oldturkey03,

I have checked the charges but nothing is wrong and the cabels are fine. I have no idea what the problrm is.
