Constant Rebooting of iPhone 3G
Hi!
I replaced the lower area of my iPhone 3G (the one that contains the USB connector, the speaker and the microphone). First I was wondering why the Home Button stopped working (the iPhone still open). It seems to me that the Home Button works by connecting to the pins of the Dock Connector part I replaced, right?
I therefore closed the case again but still the Home Button didn't work. Finally the Phone itself stopped working. When turning on the Apple logo is shown for a few minutes and then the phone reboots. The battery should be charged at about 25%.
Because the Home Button is broken I cannot enter DFU. I tried to connect the pins on the Dock Connector (which are labeled "J3" and ">", but either this didn't help or I cannot enter DFU at all.
Any idea what I can try to repair the device?
Thank you in advance!
Update
It suddenly decided to work again... :)
Is this a good question?
Congratulations:) Now all you have to do is to convert your comment to an answer and accept it as solution. This way we know that your "case is closed" again good luck to you and your phone.

Sorry, but I don't find any option to convert my comment to an answer. The only possible option seems to be "delete". Could you please tell me how to do that?

Just cut and paste your comment into the Add You Answer box, hit submit. After you can see your answer, delete your comment and Voila, you answered your own question. Good job...:)

I can't add an answer - below the "Add Your Answer" header there's only the mssage "This is your own question, leave a comment to respond to other users."

It's all good Janis. It really does not matter for as long as your issue is resolved. :) GREAT JOB and all the best to you
