Replacement battery dies overnight, logic board?
I just replaced the hard drive, battery and headphone jack cable on my old 4th gen iPod. The iPod worked great after formatting the drive and putting the latest OS 3.1.1 on it, plays music/podcasts great etc. However I'm having a problem with my battery life. When I first got this iPod the original battery lasted 12 hours or so until I replaced it with a Nano due to a dead hard drive. Now that I've replaced the battery I'm only getting about 4 or 5 hours from it, and it also will die overnight after charging. I'm debating whether I should exchange the battery with iFixit or just call it a loss and say the logic board is shot.

macsignals, I don't think it's your logic board. I believe there is something wrong in the OS, that makes charging of the battery go wrong. Use the updater to reset the OS. Check on this site, same problems like yours but got fixed. http://homepage.mac.com/paalb/iPod/iPod2... Hope this helps a bit in determining what is going on with your iPod. Of course it may also be a bum battery:)Good luck
