Why must I pinch the bottom right corner to get sound?
I get no sound from the headphone jack or the docking connector, except when I pinch the bottom right corner of the Ipod.
How can I repair this myself?

It is a common issue with the 5th generation Ipod video. You have a loose/poor connection of the audio chip to the logic board. So every time you apply pressure to it you close the connection and get sound again. To remedy this you can do one of three things.
