Battery replacement in iPod touch

Hello,

I have an iPod touch 1st generation with a dead battery. I have a new battery for a second generation iPod touch, and first generation iPhone. Will any of those work in this device?

Without the proper battery your ipod will not function properly, such as overcharging the battery which can cause it to ignite or not function at all. You need this battery specifically made for the first gen ipod touch.
