Computer does not recognize my iPod

I can't get iTunes or my computer to recognize it. The charge light does not come on.

Answer this question I have this problem too

but does your ipod charge when it is connect to the computer? if so it is not the port. A;ll you need to do is rename you iPod device drive ( F;,X:, Y:) and it should be able to read it. But be warned, you should first enable your computer to show secrect files

Charging with a dumb charger (a USB aftermarket plugged into a cigarette lighter USB adapter) is possible, but I know that doesn't help with the computer not regognizing it.

Sorry, but it sounds like its dead :( . You could always get a new shuffle though! They're cheap and come with 2gb's instead of one for more storage.

install itunes 7... then connect your Ipod Shuffle 2G in a high power usb port... 100% working result..
