Very dark screen iBook g3

History

I have read many have "black screen" due to logic board issues but i can see my screen faintly, not enough to use. it does work with external monitor very well. seems like the issue is power to the backlight but former owner said he replaced the backlight, inverter board and display. does the fact that i can see faint images mean the logic board is not the problem?

Your problem is probably with the backlight-inverter LCD or the cables connecting them. Since the previous owner replaced most of these items I would first check the cables are all properly connected and in good condition and then consider replacements.
