replaced broken screen and display is dim

I replaced my broken a screen and it works but it is extremely dim. I went to brightness, cranked it up, but it did not change it. Since i bought two 3GS screens, i installed the second one, but had the same results.

Anyone have an idea?

My suggestion here is that you do not have the backlight working. Easy for me to guess since I am not looking at your phone. Check out this site and see if it makes sense for your to fix your phone the way it is described. I mean you would have to be pretty unlucky to buy nothing but broken screens. Possible? yes but very unlikely. Just my 2 cents...here is the site http://blog.techsick.com/guides-tutorial...

Are the screens original Apple replacement ones, or cheap generic screens? I'm wondering if that may be the trouble. Do you have any screen, cracked or otherwise, that is original which you could temporarily connect and will give an indication of brightness level? You could then confirm that it isn't another hardware issue within the phone, but is actually the new screen.

hmmm....make sure your lcd is connected properly...connection number 2....try a hard reboot by holding the top and bottom button together for like 10 secs

Water Damage to the logic board will cause the back light on the LCD to function improperly. Or you might have two broken LCD need to try an LCD you know is working. Good Luck
