iMac does not power on.

History

I press the power button and the light goes on but nothing comes up on the screen. I also cannot turn it off, the light stays on till i pull the power off. Even if i hold the power button for a while.

i found some info after i posted. No bad capacitors. 2 LEDs are on.

So it looks like a bad logic board.

bummer :(

Open you iMac and inspect for swollen or leaking capacitors - they look like little cans with 2 feet soldered to the logic board. If you see this, you will need to replace the logic board.
