Is there a way to fix/replace/bypass a broken ethernet port?

History

I want to do a data transfer from my old fat ps3 to a slim ps3. My fat ps3 says that an ethernet cord is not connected even though I have tried many different cables. I did a hard drive backup and restored it on the new one, but many of my games won't use the transfered save data.

is the cable you are trying a crossover cable..if not try that. Hope this helped a little.

or if you have a flash drive that is formatted fat32 you copy them to that and transfer that way
