History

Macbook has had liquid make up spilt on the keyboard area. It has been dried and cleaned. But the computer will not start up. no sound, no screen, nothing. Any suggestion of what might have gone and how I could resolve this

It needs to opened to find the extent of the damage. You can use distilled water to wash the components if you let it completely dry. The keyboard may need to be replaced. Here's how to remove the upper case: Installing MacBook Unibody Model A1342 Upper Case

Hi Paul,

opened it up and cleaned/dried it? or just the outside. if so was there any evidence of oily liquid. this needs to be completely cleaned off as detailed by mayer. if you do that and it is still dead it could be an issue with the oily make up in the keyboard/power button?

What colour does the magsafe connector show, if any?
