My screen goes black and moving LCD gets screen back!

History

Hi

my macbook screen goes black and I have to move the lcd screen with a little pressure to get it back to its normal condition ! at first it sometimes occured but right know when I turn my laptop on it is black and I have to move the LCD screen to be able to see the screen !

I think the problem is with inverter cable or inverter board . I need to know which one is not working and can I replace it by myself ?

update : I searched about inverter cables and found that my macbook has LVDS cable instead of inverter cable ! is it right ? so I have to chaneg LVDS cable ?

Check

for cuts and pinches - you may not need to replace it,

So how can I fix it ? is there anyway to fix my screen ?

QuickSmile,

Dismantle the unit and look for nicks, cuts in the cable, cover them with tape, check the connector. You may have a broken hinge. If you find something to repair reassemble and see if the display is stable. If not you can then replace the cable.

machead3,

Dear friend I checked and there is no nicks or cuts in the cable ! so you think that I have to change the cable ? so you think that the problem is with the cable ? (there is no broken hinge) I need to be sure that if I change the cable my problem can be solved !

It sounds like the connection to the LCD is coming loose. But first clean both connectors the LCD, the logic-board and LVD cable. To start the connector on the logic-board doesn't become loose that easy, so connect the LCD first and secured it. Then connect the logic board connector. If that doesn't work try replace LVD cable and if that doesn't work then the inverter is shot so you'll need a new LCD. Hopefully it turns out to be a loose connection.

Hope that helps. Good luck with that.
