dock not showing additional items

History

I recently reset the PMU on my iBook to help solve a problem with start-up from the power button stalling & now have no additional add ons in the dock..for instance no red number on the Mail icon to show new mail items & no white lights below the Applications to show they`re in use..I`ve looked in Dock & Mail Preferences but can`t find anything to help..I`m running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8..

I set up a new account & the missing items are appearing when I log in to it... I logged out & logged in to my old account which has the History for Safari which contains this present iFixit Answers page with your response. The missing items are now turning up with the old account- all I changed was to set up a master password for Fire Vault.. So I guess my problem is now solved! Thankyou very much for the hint & your help..!

Try creating a new user, and then log in as that new user -- does the dock work correctly for the new user? If so, then it's a problem with your original user and you can start trying to move your settings over to the new user. Otherwise, post back and we'll think of something else to try.

Only doing following past policy... when I included a question in my Answer I was told "Questions are comments".
