How to fix a bricked DS lite?

History

I bought a DS lite at a car boot sale which as far as I can tell is bricked (someone attempted to flash it but failed).

Does anyone know of a way to fix it short of replacing the entire motherboard?

heres one i found. involves taking it apart, owning another one as well, as you need to swap BIOS chips... bit complicated...
