Internal battery connector, not charging battery
Hi
I recently bought a Macbook on ebay, it is fully functional other than not charging the battery. It will run off of the battery, even tho it insists there is no battery!
I decided to try a replacement battery connector (also from ebay), but the seller sent an 18 pin connector rather than the 20 pin connector for this model. They are now saying if I just insert it, it will work. However, I am unwilling to try this without more info as I don't want to risk damaging anything.
Anyone have any ideas on whether this will work? Or is this guy just trying it on?

Here's the part you should have: MacBook Battery Connector/Sleep Sensor (non-Energy Star)
MacBook Battery Connector/Sleep Sensor (non-Energy Star)
Provides battery contacts and sleep sensor for logic boards without Energy Star printed at the second RAM... — 16 available at 29.95 each.
Thanks, I know which is the proper part. The problem here is that this guy is insisting that the one he sent me will work! I don't believe him (tbh I don't think he knows anything) and I don't want to try it, but he won't accept my return of the part he sent me without proving it won't work in my Macbook. So can you tell me and/or point me to info proving that he has definitely sent me an unsuitable part?
File a complaint with ebay. They will require the seller to accept the incorrect part.
