White screen after screen wakes from sleep
I bought an iPod touch (2nd generation) off of a guy for $50, but the screen has issues. When the iPod is completely powered off, then back on, the screen works fine and I can see icons. However, after the first time the iPod is put to sleep, any time it is woken after that I get a white screen. It can still unlock, and I can hear it unlocking, but it's just a plain 'ol white screen.
Restoring through iTunes didn't work, and DFU mode then restore didn't work either. Those just took the jailbreak off.
If this were a hardware problem, wouldn't the screen malfunction from boot? Where should I go from here?
Edit:
This iPod was also dropped and damaged in the upper left corner, and I assume it landed on it's edge (very small area of damage). After I called him, he confirmed that the screen didn't behave that way until after the drop.

xenophek,
Sounds like time to open it up, check the LCD is plugged in and not loose. Possible you just have a loose plug. At the worst you need a new LCD. Follow the guide to replace the display in step 9, picture 2 just to the left of the iPod opener is the plug, it has some black neoprene foam on it, see if just gently pushing the plug to snap it fully into place doesn't cure your problem. You can (carefully) leave the digitizer attached and work it through the motions you described to be sure it worked and if it does you are in business. Please keep us posted and let us know if it was the simple fix or you had to replace the LCD. I would post the proper link but for some reason I can't paste the link. Right hand side of this page is the link to the step by step guides. follow that to the display page and go from there.
