Why is my built in camera not working

my built in camera is not working. the light does not turn on with it (green light to the right) i have tried and spent a lot of time researching to see whats the deal with it but its still not working. i tried resetting my SMC and PMU. that didn't work. tried opening up with applications but it still is unresponsive. do you have any ideas?

It's the first gen with a camera and is. 2.33 ghz processor. I don't have it with me right now. Sorry

another idea... does the camera show up in system profiler under USB?

Options

It's possible that the cable has come loose. Which model MBP 15" do you have? You should be able to check out one of the guides for your model which will show you up to the point of pulling out the isight camera cable. If I knew your model I could direct you to the most relevant guide.
