How to separate lcd and digitiser/glass assembly

In the 3g & 3gs, the lcd could be released from the midframe via removal of screws, How is it attached to the glass/digitiser in the iphone 4. There dont seem to be any screws. Is it adhesive and is it difficult to remove or does it have to be replaced as a complete lcd/digitiser assembly when the front glass/lens breaks

Hmm...looks like they want you to buy a complete lcd/digitiser unit. Apart from revenue generation for the manufacturers I cant really see any point in having them glued togather.

The LCD/Digitizer/Gorilla Glass are all securely glued together and not designed to be separated. Front glass or panel replacement will require a complete display assembly.

See step # 22 in the iPhone 4 teardown.

the digitizer is available for purchase without being a complete assembly...

however eric is correct, the front assembly is not designed to be "easily" disassembled, nothing to do with making more money or anything of such, simply eliminating parts and improving on a design from the 3g/3gs.. something apple is fantastic at accomplishing. :)

you can't separate the LCD from the digitiser without proper equipment, have a look at some pics here to see what happens when you try.
