The volume is at max and can't be decreased

History

seems like the volume up button always gives contact to put the sound at max. Sliding the volume down in dsi sound studio helps, but as soon as you release the slider the volume gets to max again.

I noticed you never got an answer to this. Are you still having this problem?

machead3,

Did either of you get an answer to your problem or get it fixed? My sons systemis doing the same thing. Thanks.

Lon Doyle,

Did I miss understand? I thought over on Meta it was decided to vote these into comments, not Questions. The problem has never had a accepted solution in almost 9mos. Do we want to have another Question the samet?

machead3,

Your "up" volume button is stuck down; check to see if any crumbs or dirt have gotten in there. You might need to replace the SD card slot and volume control assembly.

My thought would be that the slider button is off track and no longer adjusting the slide switch on the motherboard. You could take it apart to confirm this.
