Keyboard and track pad is not responding

I just replaced my keyboard and the entire panel and got the keyboard connector for this keyboard but when try to turn on the keyboard, it will not respond unless I hold down the ribbon. I don't know what to do about this besides taking it to a repair shop. I made sure I have the ribbon all the way in its slot and the keyboard connect is in nice and snug but it still won't do anything until I press down on the ribbon.

Hello,

have you tried to use some kind of adhesive, or maybe a bit of double side tape, i suspect that the problem maybe with the connector where the cable docks into the connector the lock on that maybe the issue,

I'd try to glue the cable down, with something temporary, if that works, make it permanent. hope this helps.. :)
