Why wont my Sleep button click after taking apart

History

I followed the instructions to take apart the Iphone and now when putting it back together i cant install the Sleep button correctly. Is it suppose to be facing a certain way? I screw it in and it wont click like before its just Solid.

Well I keep taking it out and putting it back in trying different ways but it just won't click it stays solid each time I screw it in.

gene kallivrousis,

Does anyone have a pic of the way it suppose to be facing?

It is possible that you put the button in the wrong way around. The metal part that hangs off the bottom of the button should be 90 degrees to the button itself and face the back of the iPhone

There is a cable at the top of the iPhone and it controls the sleep/wake button and the headphone jack. Make sure that it is fully pushed in and re-assemble the iPhone.
