iPod touch decided to stop playing music!
My iPod touch recently stopped playing music and started playing static. I sent it into apple but they wouldn't fix it because of the little crack on the screen. I haven't abused in any way (other than the little crack on the screen which has been there...forever

I have a sony X-plode, and a second genration Ipod touch.
All was well when hooked up to the usb out from the radio, until my friend was frequently changing songs and snooping in the passenger seat. Usually I use the radio to search through and change songs.
During his jittery changing, the ipod would play for about 30 seconds, play static (2 times) and then shut the sound off. The ipod is still on and has the play button showing. Every time I unplug it and try again this happens. The aux out still works.
Any Ideas?
Which generation iPod Touch do you have? If you have the 2nd or 3rd generation, can you hear music played over speakers? Have you tried different headphones?
Alex Jansen,
2nd generation. no sound whatsoever.
