iPod touch digitizer connector compatibility?

History

I have 4 8gb 3rd gen iPod touches with broken digitizers, i have purchased new digitizers for each of them but the connector on them are different from the ones that came off. is there a difference between 2nd gen and 3rd gen digitizers?

the 3rd generation has a different digitizer as the 2nd generation.

since your 8gb 3rd gen isn't a 3rd generation device - you need the digitizer of the 2nd generation.

Does this apply to the LCD as well if it's a 8GB 3rd Gen iPod Touch?

the 8gb 3rd gen. is a 2nd gen. - only the 32 & 64gb models are 3rd gen

I bought an 8gb ipod touch 3rd gen an when my digitizer broke I searched in youtube how to change digitizer an in some videos toled that my Ipod 8gb is 2ng gen and only 36 and 64gb are 3rd gen an I bought a digitizer for ipod touch 2nd gen will it work?
