Why doesn't my webcam work

This is possibly outdated drivers. these can be downloaded/updated via device manager.

1. search programme "device manager"

2. look for webcam driver

3. update driver

this should work, if not follow the answer above.

Three methods to update the webcam driver.

Method 1: Update the driver in Device Manager

- Click Start and type Device Manager, then hit Enter

- Select Device Manager from the search list

- Find Your the driver you want to update, right click on it, then select Update.

Method 2: Go to manufacturer's website to download and install

Go to manufacturer's official website and check for the latest drivers for your device. Download and install manually with the prompts.

Method 3: Use a Third party utility.

There are a lot of third party utilities to update the outdated drivers. Driver Talent is a very convenient tool. Launch it and it will scan to detect the drivers, then update the outdated one. What you need to do is just to click your mouse.

Are you sure you have a web camera? My Dell Latitude E6400 does not. If there is only one small hole (for the microphone) near the center of the top edge of the bezel, you do not have a camera.
