How do I repair a stripped Toggle Slide Switch?

History

The toggle / slide switch on this camera is broke (slides loosely between video / still photo mode, and the camera is stuck in video mode). Canon said the warranty doesn't cover it. Is this an easy DIY fix?

You can try to take apart the camera and check for dirt or stuff like that and if thats no luck maybe that pars bad

Is it easy? Depends on the camera. The broken part is not actually the switch, it is a piece of plastic which pushes the switch back and forth.
