Touchscreen works intermittently after replacement

After replacing the damaged screen on my 4s initially the digitizer worked. It that started to work intermittently and i'd have to press in above the lcd to the right to get it to respond again. Now its stopped working all together. I replaced it with another digitizer and experienced the same problem.

Am i doing something wrong? Whats the metal box on the digitizer cable? should that touch something? like the 2 prongs on the digitizer ic or something? I feel like theres a loose connection somewhere causing it but cant find it after several tear downs.

Help! :(

Usually I'd say it's a defective screen. But are you pulling the cable all the way? Or are you letting it get stuck on the outside of the phone?

You've got to be extremely careful with the 4 devices considering you're taking apart the entire phone to get to the screen. Just go back off your logic board, and make sure that everything is connected properly, and that nothing is missing from the logic board that you may have accidentally ripped up.
