How to tell if the nexus 7 screen is really broken
I recently replaced the screen of a nexus 7 and the screen doesn't show an image or appear to come on in anyway. I am curious if there is a way to tell if the nexus 7 screen is really the problem or if its another issue? like if i could hear clicking, a start up noise, vibrating, or anything non screen related that would confirm that the tablet is running.

I should add that i bought a replacement, installed it and tried turning it on but nothing happened. I plugged it in and there is no charging icon so I'm wondering if i purchased a dud or if its another problem that happen between taking out the last screen and putting in a new one.

Do you know the cause of the original screen needing replacement? Did you notice anything with the device as you were opening it up for repair?

The digitizer was broken. Nothing else appeared to be wrong and everything else was fine but this is my first nexus 7 repair. My best guess is that the screen is a dud but i wanted to be sure be going further.

Is it possible any of the cables were damaged during repair or have you made sure all cables were seated properly?
