replacement wii drive does not read dual layer disks, ie brawl bros

replaced wii optical drive plays all single layer games but not dual layer ie brawl, why?

Yes, the super smash bros worked perfectly until the drive died

Hum, that is what I figured. It "could" be that the replacement drive is defective. Kind of an expensive option to try another drive, especially if you don't have another one laying around.

Is the replacement drive "new" or pulled from a "working" console?

The drive was purchased from this website, they are going to send another when more are available, I will leave a post to let everyone know if the new one works
