My eject and power bottons will not light up...

My PS3 slim lights (power and eject) will not work on my CECH-2501a? All the other lights are working properly though... Does anybody know what is going on and possibly how to fix it? I have to turn on my Playstation 3 with the controllers and I like to have full control over my system at all times.
