I dropped my laptop, and it won't turn on...

Ok, so I was walking with my computer, and I dropped it. Now it will go to the Dell loading screen, but not past that. I can access the F12 menu and BIOS. It keeps making a beeping noise, and I really need my laptop. What do I do? I have Windows 7, and it's an E6520. Please help......

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Tell us about the beeping noise? Any pattern to it? Can your BIOS see the hard drive?

It's soft and constant. I don't know about the Bios seeing the hrd drive, but I can try to check....

You might try to pull your RAM, your battery and disconnect the AC Power. Hold the power button down for 10-15 sec then reinsert your memory (one module only) replace the battery and see if it starts up. Check top make sure that the hard drive is properly seated as well.

You might want to try hooking a monitor up to it to see if there are any error codes that you may be missing because of screen issues..

Dell beep codes can be found here. The number of beeps usually tells you what type of problem you are facing.
