Parts: iPod Touch 3rd gen and 2nd gen: Are they the same?

History

Is the digitizer and LCD on the iPod touch 3rd generation the same part as the iPod touch 2nd generation? If not can a 2nd generation digitizer and/or LCD be used on a 3rd generation?

You can use the frame but NOT the glass depending on the size GB wise
