My digitizer is broken but the LCD still works.

The glass is shattered on my screen and the digitizer is totally non responsive (I can't even touch the screen to turn the phone off). Is it worth buying just the glass+digitizer? or should I just buy a whole new LCD unit? Obviously the former is cheaper, but I worry that removing the glass from the LCD will be a pain in the arse.

Chris, you are absolutely right. To separate it is a royal PITA and I would go with a complete assembly. Remember that there are people out there that will buy your old display assembly for as long as the LCD works. So put it on ebay or something like that and see if you can recover some of the money spent on the assembly. Hope this helps, good luck.
