No startup chime or screen power

Early 2006 MacBook had water spill.

Disassembled it and cleaned it but after reassembly the MagSafe light was visible only in a dark room and nothing would turn on.

Logic board probably destroyed because computer was left powered on after it got wet so I replaced the board. Now mag safe light is green and when I hold down the power button I can hear the drive spinning but no chime or screen light!

What to do next?

Well, I found the problem. Bad RAM! Both modules were bad. Could the coffee spill which caused the original problem have destroyed them?

Thanks Lemerise and mackhead3 for your suggestions.

Connect to an external monitor - you should see a normal display, if you don't the new board has a bad GPU. If you see a normal display it could be your inverter board, or cable/connector(s) examine them for corrosion and complete proper connection. Generally a backlight replace is a very advanced DIY… easier to replace the screen if the inverter board does not improve things.

After a logic bord swap it's wise to do a SMC and a pram reset. If the logic board still does'nt boot remove the top case and try to start it directly via the two power pads located just under the fan. You did'nt replaced the liquid spilled top case so it could be shorted even if the power switch works.

I did an SMC and pram reset but no change. I do not see any power pads under the fan.
