iPhone 4s not hearing me from Voice Mem or Siri

Hi all,

I have replaced the Dock Connector flex and battery in my this 4S in order to resolve an original issue (only charging when switched off). However, it seems when testing Voice Memo and Siri, the mic is not picking me up.

Heres a brief summary;

No sound can be recorded in Siri and Voice Memos.

• Sound does record and playback with video recorder.

No voice in calls from iPhone, just noise, but recieves sound from caller.

• Only works in calls with speakerphone on.

Any suggestions? I will be checking for miss-place flexicables and I do recall replacing the dock connector mic's plastic cover being a little tricky.

Thanks guys!

Yea sounds like the new dock you replaced has a faulty mic test the old dock connector and see if Siri works and the mic works in calls then you will no if it's a faulty mic in the replacement

Thanks con, I think your probably right, although original replacement was down to a (suspected) faulty dock connector, would you put the old one back in before you buy a new dock connector?

Yes try the old dock to confirm that the mic works. If it does I would order a replacement

thanks con, im ordering a replacement dock - im assuming this is down to a faulty dock mic on the original replacement as the old dock works (although doesn't charge)

pro tips, thanks! (ill have more questions coming lol)

Cheers con, got new dock and the mic worked (but as seen in and kindly guided by you in this post "iPhone 4S No Loudspeaker Sound (after dock replacement)" I keep finding myself with faulty docks :D

I will keep trying a new dock connector until all these complaints are resolved.

Thanks!
