How do I turn my iPhone 4 volume back on?

Hey! Can someone help me to turn my phone volume back on. I really can't hear a thing on my phone. When I turned on my pandora, I can't hear a thing. I tried everything I could think of to turn the volume back on. Even when I push the volume buttons, only the pic of the bell shows and the word ringer but the volume bars don't show. Also when I get a call, you can hear the volume like if it was ok, normal. And when I plug my headphones in you can hear everything ok, again normal, but the volume without the headphones does not work. Can someone please help me!?!? Thanks.

Options

Clean iPhone charging port very well with toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol. If still problem, next step would be replacement of charging port assembly with flex cable, lower mic, and home button flex connector, all a single part.
