I can't see what's on my screen?!

Hi !

My screen is black and I can only see what's on the screen if I use a flashlight in a dark room. I took it to the Apple store and they told me I need a new back light and they will fix it for 280$. Can I change the whole display myself ?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Maybe - but the part alone could cost you almost 2X that amount (if you can obtain one), and you'll need to purchase tools.

If you can study and comprehend the guides and comments, purchase the proper tools it's a certainty. If you don't use the proper tools, neglect to understand what you're going to have to do before you begin… you could end up doing more damage.

People often write in that they have torn a component (connector) off the logic board, or reassembled something wrong. . . frequently these folks admit they "read" the guides but didn't study them.
