Did I fry my logic board, without turning hold on?

Just replaced my ipod video screen, but forgot to put the machine on hold. Now, when i try to start the player I hear the hardrive start up and spin for 5-10 secs and then shut off with a loud whine. The screen never lights up during this.

Have I fryed my logic board?

I double checked all connections and everything looks to be fitted properly. Could it have to do with a flimsy wheel button thing?

Answer this question I have this problem too

chrispbolduc, very unlikely that you did any damage to the board because of the hold switch. Double check all of your work. Make sure that you have all the ribbon cables properly inserted (straight) and that all the tabs are closed. Make sure that you have the proper screen, i.e. classic does not work in the 5th gen etc. Also, see if iTunes still recognizes your iPod. Hope this helps, good luck.

When I got up the next morning I checked it again and the screen turned on, but was white. I tired to reset the harddrive, but nothing seems to happen. When I connect it to my computer, it isn't recognized.

Anything else I can do?
