Is the focusing mechanism of the lens repairable?

The camera will not focus. The camera and I took a hard hit, sufficiently to eject the batteries and requiring the date & time to be reset. The blow was to the lower, left, rear corner of the camera. The case was not broken. The camera functioned normally for several photos. Later photos were out of focus. Later the photos were totally out of focus and the lens would move in and out as if trying to focus. The drive mechanism for the lens occasionally jams.

The Lens Assembly does not appear to be repairable as there are no parts readily available. I purchased a used unit. Replaced the damaged unit. This was not difficult although there are many cables. I discovered that the cables are somewhat difficult to reinstall. There is a Sony service manual on the internet, I have misplaced the link.
