white LCD after replacement

I have a iPod touch 16gb 2/3 gen but I'm not sure I thought it was 2nd as it has a model number of ends in 0288 as really scratches hard to see. But I saw online the same code and they said it was 2nd gen bit I have feeling it was 3gen as my sister said as she brought it new but wasn't sure.

Basic clay I replaces the LCd and now its just lighting up white? Is that due to I have the wrong screen?

Many thanks,

Kam

Its important you know whether you have the right screen or not if you ordered one for the model number you have then it should be correct. If the screen is correct then try checking all the cables and plug ins inside re-connecting them to make sure they are all tight. If you can turn it on with it apart try that and wiggle things around like the screen plug in and see if you get anything at all. The biggest thing is make sure you go back double check your work and just go over it again. Whether it be with computers cars or phones i have done a repair and had a problem and went back over everything i did then it worked thats happened hundreds of times to me. If the screen you got doesnt match the model number in the listing then there is your problem.

I've went back and checked but I'm guessing I have the wrong LCD. What would happen if I put a 2gen screen on a 3rs gen iPod? Would it just not work? Or be white? Thankyou
