What replacement part do I buy for a dysfunctional power button?

Hello guys I have a white iPhone 5 and the power button still has perfect clicking action. However only if I firmly press it on one side it actually works.

The EU store does not have a replacement power button and I dont think I need one either. Has anyone had a similar problem and did they buy a iPhone 5 Audio Control and Power Button Cable instead? What is really defective here?

Thanking you for your time in advance

I've noticed the iPhone 5 seems to have issues with the power button. If its a new one take it back to apple.

I've done a replacement and bought the whole cable. With the 5 you will need to dismantle the whole phone to get to the cable.

A fiddly job but worth it

Thanks for the reply! Did you happen to have a similar problem? And nopes I am currently out of warranty and it would cost nearly 200£ otherwise :(

The part is this: iPhone 5 Audio Control and Power Button Cable I had to replace it when someone dropped their phone and the screen was smashed too its not a nice job, super fiddly and takes a long time. If you haven't experience it may be worth finding a store that will do it for you

As Cammy stated you will need the power, audio control flex, (not an easy job) I had a few iPhone 5 with this issue. To verify that it is the cable you can connect it to the logic board and test it before you take the iPhone 5 apart.
