Leftover part after screen replacement?

I was repairing my Iphone 4 when I found this piece out of nowhere. Where does it go? It is not the plastic washer next to the vibrate motor. I think it might be from near the headphone jack somewhere. Any idea where it goes? I might just throw it away..

That helps to secure the speaker assembly--you'll see the spot for it under the dock connector at the speaker screw.
