White Screen of Death and Graphics Problems - Solution

History

i've received a iPod Nano 1g today.

the device had a huge problem - the screen was distorted when i switched to another menu entry and when i woke it up from sleep mode the wsod was there.

since updating,resoring and resetting led to nothing i installed rockbox on the nano.

and that was it - the nano works great - no more wsod, no graphic distortions or anything else.

so i can only recommend this modification to save the 1st gen. nano from the recycle bin!

i've played around with it a little more and seen a "problem". if i select a dark theme - it sometimes has a slight blue flickering in the background - but the text's and everything is fully readable (not comparable with the original firmware issues where the screen was most of the time not readable or only white
