Excessive Battery Drain and overheating? New Battery?

I put a new battery in my friends iphone 4 because it was overheating when charging and was losing like 2% of battery a minute! I changed the battery to a new one off of iFixit and its working better than the old battery but he is still has excessive battery drain. However the overheating seems to have subsided. He did tell me that the phone may of gotten wet. Any ideas of where to go from here to stop the excessive battery drain?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I'm thinking maybe the water damaged the logic board and that is whats causing the problem. Of course that means the phone is pretty much done for.

If he is not sure the iPhone gets wet you check your email settings and Traham is using a server named EXCHANGE.

If he does use the PUSH button to turn off and then check the rate of decline of the battery again.

This server is very loaded on the iPhone and send email request to refresh every 30 seconds which causes increased battery consumption.

If that does not help ... It is necessary to check for corrosion on the motherboard and other parts.

On this page there are reasons and indications that the battery properly work.
