Proximity sensor not working after screen replacement

Hi

I replaced the screen on White iPhone 4 running ios6. I had a proximity sensor issue so I opened it back up and used some tape as described in another guide. This fixed it. A few months down the line the issue returned so I opened it again and added more tape and ensired the little pin holes were accurate bug it still isn't fixed. I've upgrade to ios7 and set up as new multiple times but issue persists. I took it to a repair guy who tried 3 proximity sensors including his own from his own iPhone and it still doesn't work. No matter what I do I cannot get the screen to darken when I cover the sensor which means I am muting, holding or remind ting every call I take.

Any ideas anyone?

Try black sharpie on frosted clear tape. Simply cover sensors with single thickness of the blackened tape. No pinholes needed.

Gae it another go but still not fixed. The repair shop buy suggested maybe a new screen was required. Think I will sell as is with known issue.

try tape with pinhole, try removing the small uv sticker. you don't need a new screen. it can always be fixed..
