Fan connector its OUT of the mother board by default?

Block Image

I have truly not forced anything on my macbook when I tried to clean up due to a big sound fan problem on the laptop.

THen I was scared when I noticed that connector were completely out of site.

I am not sure if my macbook pro 15'' A1286 Unibody

Using a plastic gloves and trying to handmoving the conector to its position with the computer ON made the fan run correctly. So I guess it should be fixed by resoldering the 4 pins to the 4 joints on the motherboard.

Can someone give me some tip or advice because i guess apple support wont help....

Thx

alexey, what are the last three digits of your serial number? That will help us to identify your computer. Also, if you can post an image so we can see the damage and someone may guide you with the repair. The other issue at hand is, do you have the tools and know how to solder...

alexey, looks like your solder pad are in good shape. this should be a straight forward soldering job. If you do not have the tools or the knowledge, I would get someone that has done this repair before, to do that.

Soldering logic boards is not like soldering lamp cords. It requires special tools, solder and lots & lots of practice. Unless you have the tools and experience you may want to hire someone to do that repair for you.
