Is the SSD Storage User Upgradeable?

Can the SSD storage be replaced with something else available on the market? If I were to buy a 256GB model, would I be able to buy a larger capacity 3rd party SSD product and install it?

Yes - The SSD is removable and can be exchanged out

No - presently no third party options available yet for this new system ('13 model). I do think options will be coming ;-}

You can replace them, but there is nowhere to buy SSDs of this form factor. The only way is to get it from another Mac or order from apple as a repair part.(only AASP can do that.)

The SSD card in this machine use proprietary form factor and connector. the signaling is standard PCIe though. PCIe SSDs are very expensive and with the adapter it certainly won't fit inside a laptop. So even you get an adapter for the connector, there is no point installing a 3rd party SSD
