Won't turn on, after some time of not using it.

MacBook Pro A1150 2.0Ghz 2006

Hello, so I have this macbook is my back up laptop, so I dont use it a lot.

My girlfriend magsafe died, so I lend her mine, after some time (about three month) I got a new magsafe but when I tried to turn it on, it judt didn't.

I have opened it , and don't notice anything wrong.

The light on the magsafe turns green, and it charges the battery.

I tought that maybe it was the whole keyboard/power button, buy i have tried the switch with a tester and it gives me signal when pressing it.

I have algo tried to start the mbp just by the pads on the logic board and it didn't work either.

I tought that maybe it was the pram battery, but the tester receives 2.7v (it's a 3v battery I know, but I don't think that has something to do)

I don't know what to do, i have tried all combinatios, and everything.

Please help.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Disconnect the charger, remove the battery put the top back on (make connections but don't screw it down).

Connect the charger then attempt to start.

It should boot but run slow.

Shut down

Reinstall battery & connect charger. If it's not charging you need a new battery.

If it charges wait until complete, remove the charger and try to boot from battery.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

Hello, thanks. I can't really tell how many times I've tried that, with no results..

This machine usually will not start unless the battery has at least a 25% charge. Press the test button to see if it has a charge. The battery may be so old (it's 7 years old if the original battery), it will no longer take a 25% charge. See if your girlfriend battery is the same as yours and borrow it. Test your new adapter on her machine to see if it is working too.

David,

Any news on your old old computer not booting up? I'm in the same dead zone after having tried all kinds of resets.
