Won't turn on, related to SMC Update v1.9?

Hi,

I didn't install this update and didn't use the MBA in the last >4 weeks ...

Today I charged it and now it won't turn on. I think it is related to the update (I'm pretty sure the battery was <1%)

Does anybody know if this could help? I'll give it a try if someone can confirm this. (Pentalobe screwdriver is on it's way ... ;-) )

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Apple told me to take it to a Apple Service Partner near me to do a "technical SMC reset" (I think they mean by that "removing the battery ;-) )

Got a call from the ASP yesterday ... they have to order a new mainboard since the SMC reset didn't work ... so a have to wait 2-3 days and hope it'll be working then.

The ASP called today, the MBA is repaired. They had to change the main logic board ...

You might try removing the battery and charger overnight. Connecting the charger (don't have to screw down the top case) and see if it will boot. If it does shut down, install the battery, charge the battery up before using.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

Ok, I'll try it. The screwdriver is already shipped so I hope I can try it tomorrow ;-)

So, I've detached the battery yesterday and tried it now (~24 hours later, battery is full). Sadly it won't boot. However it kinda reacts to the SMC reset (shift+ctrl+option+power), the LED from the power-cord changes color.

I'll call apple and let them deal with it.

Thanks for your help
