What does the flashing red LED indicate on the Magix Box?

A friend assembled a Magic Box and it does not work. I am trying to fix it.

The red LED on the large box that is connected to the MagSafe Power Adapter flashes every 3-4 seconds when plugged into the Battery.

What does the flashing red LED indicate?

Hint: I rewired the box after he did it as I think he may have shorted the wires.
