White Screen but Boots up!

Hello Guys!

I started my Macbook this morning as usual, but then it only did show a white screen.

When i connect a external display I get my normal desktop and everything is working properly.

Now I'm wondering, is it only the display who isn't working properly? Or could it be something else? Displaybridge or something like that?

Thanks in advance!

Since an external display looks normal your VGU/VGC is good, so is your logic board, and HD. That leaves the LED controller, the data display cable and the LED its self as source of the problem. I'd start with replacing the cable as that is the cheapest simplest place to begin..

Thanks for your response :)

Okay, I will look after that cable!

But do you really think the LED itself could be the problem? Because after all its still completely glowing in white..

I think Machead mis-spoke, I'm sure he meant the LVDS cable you disconnect in step 8 in this guide Replacing the MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Display assembly. The connector or the cable could be damaged. It supplies power for the backlight LED's as well as sends the signals to the LCD. The other possibility here is the display got a good hit on the edge causing the driver logic mounted on the back of the panel to become dislodged. If that happened you will need a new display as thats not repairable.
